Houston Eyeglass FAQs: Warranties, Wait Times, and Care Tips
If you've recently picked out a new pair of glasses, you're probably wondering what happens next. At Briargrove Eye Center, our Houston optometrists answer questions like: How long will it take to get my glasses? What’s the warranty policy? How do I clean my lenses properly?
This guide walks you through the full post-purchase experience — so you can protect your investment and enjoy clear vision faster.
How Long Does It Take to Get Glasses?
On average, glasses are ready for pickup in 7 to 10 business days. This timeline covers standard lenses and frames available through our optical boutique.
If you've selected:
- Specialty coatings (like anti-reflective),
- Custom lens materials, or
- Out-of-stock frame sizes, your order might take slightly longer due to lab production times or shipping delays.
Tip: Ask your optician during checkout for an estimate based on your specific order.
What’s Included in My Glasses Warranty?
We provide a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty on both lenses and frames:
- Frame Coverage: Manufacturer defects such as loose hinges or structural failure without physical damage.
- Lens Coverage: Scratches, defects, or issues with anti-reflective coatings under normal use.
Not covered: Accidental damage, such as bent frames from impact or broken arms from drops.
For full peace of mind, ask our team during your next comprehensive eye exam about optional protection plans.
Best Way to Clean and Care for Your Glasses
Caring for your glasses the right way can extend their lifespan and maintain crystal-clear vision. Here's how we recommend cleaning your lenses:
- Always use a microfiber cloth or 100% cotton. Avoid paper towels, tissues, or clothing, which can scratch lenses.
- Weekly deep clean: Mix lukewarm water with a drop of Dawn® dish soap. Gently lather and rinse, then dry with microfiber.
- Disinfection: Use an alcohol swab, followed by a clean microfiber cloth to prevent streaking.
- Avoid over-wiping. Excessive cleaning can wear down the lens coating over time, leaving smudges or rings.
